- Listing information: address, photos, pricing, availability (for Hosts)
- Booking information: dates, times, amounts, vehicle details
- Location: approximate location used to show nearby listings (only when you use the app)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process bookings and payments
- Send booking confirmations and reminders (SMS and push notifications, with your consent)
- Connect Renters and Hosts for confirmed bookings
- Improve the SpotMate platform and user experience
- Prevent fraud and ensure platform safety
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Information We Share
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With Hosts: Renters' first names and vehicle info are shared with Hosts upon booking confirmation
- With Renters: Hosts' first names and the confirmed parking address are shared after booking
- With service providers: Stripe (payments), AWS (infrastructure), Mapbox (maps), Expo (push notifications)
- As required by law: In response to valid legal requests
4. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Booking records are retained for 3 years for legal and tax purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us.
5. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure cloud infrastructure (AWS), and tokenized payment processing (Stripe). No system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information in your profile
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of SMS notifications at any time from your account settings
